Malya Ernő: born in 1936 close to Békéscsaba in a family of a miller in Tótkomlós. He would have liked to became a career diplomat after graduating in Orosháza, but he was not admitted to the University of Foreign Affairs, so he went to the University of Horticulture. He enjoyed the studies of vine and wine growing, this is why he used all available time to make a wine career. Started in Kiskunhalas, then Szigetcsép and from 1994 he is the chief wine-maker of Nyakas Cellars in Tök. Apart from the countless awards from domestic and international challenges, he took the “winemaker of the year” award in 2002 in Hungary.
