Top scores for Nyakas wines
Vintage 2009 is unique and definitely gave an unforgettable yield in the Etyek-Buda Region. Nyakas Wines were awarded with top scores on the first most serious international competitions.
In Paris on the Vinalies 2010 among 3200 entered wines, the international jury gave Gold for Budai Irsai Olivér, Silver for Budai Müller Thurgau. Meanwhile in Burgundy on the Chardonnay du Monde challenge Budai Chardonnay received a Silver Medal.
The Chardonnay sort lately proved again to be at the right place in Buda area. In Verona at the Vinitaly 2010 wine contest among 3500 entered wines, Chardonnay 2009 from Nyakas Cellars received the highest score in its category, and received Grand Gold from the esteemed critics. At the same contest Gran Menzione Certificates were given to Sauvignon blanc and Irsai Olivér.
„Special Nation Award for the most successful Hungarian producer” was given to Nyakas Cellars. This is the second time the our winery gained Special Nation Award in Verona (2004 and 2010)
